Great Country Triathlons and Fun Runs
With a new Event Compound at Closebourne Village overlooking the Hunter River, this year we are offering a revised format and run courses. After taking competitor comments on board we are now offering a slightly longer Mid Distance Triathlon with 2km swim, 60km cycle and 15km run legs. This will test the best, and with $2000 prize money we hope to attract the best. For our shorter specialists or novice competitors we are also offering a sprint distance event with 500m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run legs. We will be avoiding the river bank for our run course, which has deteriorated over the past 3 years. We will also be offering our increasingly popular Spring Country Fun Run, with new 5km or 10km events. This will all be combined with great food, exciting family fun activities and live music, all overlooking the beautiful Hunter River and next to Historic Morpeth's great cafes, pubs and shopping village.

Once again Maitland sport and service clubs will be the recipient of substantial donations from the event proceeds.

We will also be working with Maitland Triathlon Club, Maitland Sunrise Rotary Club, Maitland CREST, Maitland SES, East Maitland Scouts, St John Ambulance and Stockton Surf Club as course marshals.

As you can see the Maitland community is keen to make sure the event is run to a high standard with a friendly country atmosphere. So why not come up to the Maitland area for the weekend and bring the family.
